Life Coaching

Yoga is an ancient practice incorporating exercises of the mind, body and spirit.  It dates back over 5,000 – 10,000 years, depending on the source. “Yoga Sutra,” is a 2,000-year-old treatise on yogic philosophy by the Indian sage Patanjali.  It is a guidebook on how to master the mind, control the emotions, and grow spiritually. The Yoga Sutra is the earliest written record of yoga and one of the oldest texts in existence.  It provides the framework for all modern yoga.

Yoga utilizes techniques that focus awareness on the breath and energy movement in the body  in combination with physical poses to maximize full body/mind wellness. These physical poses are called asanas and are the movements that are widely recognized, particularly in western cultures, as “Yoga.”  

Yoga is a complete practice that addresses the whole being and places equal attention on the body, the mind, and the spiritual self.  Yoga is not a religion, it is a practice for all people regardless of belief, physical structure or mental state.  Everyone can find a yoga practice that is right for them.

Ask yourself not what you think you cannot do but rather expand upon that which you CAN do.

 

Flexibility Is A State Of Mind!

Life Coaching is a promoting partnership between coach and coachee who work together to create dynamic shifts for the coachee to create positive change in his or her life. Professional coaches provide knowledgeable insight and action plans to assist a person to move beyond obstacles holding them back from actualizing the complete form of life and self they wish to achieve. 

Often we think of coaches in combination with sports teams.  This position offers some contextual similarities but personal and professional life coaches are versed in methods of life performance rather than athletic performance.  Both types of coaches offer strategy and action initiatives that move the participants in a desired direction.

Life coaches are NOT therapists!  A coach is not accredited to perform psychotherapy and even if a coach is certified as a psychotherapyst,  the disciplines are separate and distinct in philosophy and methodology and should be kept as independent processees.   

If there is trauma, unresolved conflict, or emotional discord relating to past experiences or emotional wellness, a coach should recommend the coachee to discuss these positions with a registered psychotherapist or appropriate specialist.  

A lifecoach is a co-creator for the goals and life expressions the coachee outlines for her/his self!  Coaches DO NOT direct a path, they provide partnership in achieving the coachee’s desired outcomes!
